The Ford F-150 Lightning proves electric vehicle (EV) performance now exceeds conventional gas engines. BlueOval City is a 3,600-acre mega-campus in West Tennessee on track to be the home of future EV battery production and the next generation of electric trucks from Ford centered in the heart of the United States.
Everything about the new plant is revolutionary, like its carbon-neutral, zero-landfill waste, energy-capturing operations focusing on protecting the local environment and communities home to potentially 6,000 new workers. Not only is Ford building a home base for American electric vehicle production, but they are investing in local communities and people by starting up a training program that will ready thousands of people for the jobs of tomorrow.

Preparing for 6,000 American Jobs and an EV Future
In support of future operations, Ford has started the BlueOval Learning Training program by investing in K-12 STEM programs and developing post-secondary and technical training to fill an estimated 6,000 new jobs the plant will bring to Haywood, Tipton, and Lauderdale counties in West Tennessee. Ford has already worked to expand certifications and training opportunities for high school students to get a jumpstart on their careers. Additionally, Ford plans to partner with colleges and universities to provide training for advanced manufacturing with a focus on EVs and batteries.
